Ok, I just recieved my new graphics card GeForce 8800 GTS. I opened up my computer, and took the old graphics card out, but now the new one is literally too big to fit in there. Its a PCI Express and I can tell that it is the right slot, but because of the fan it is too thick to fit in properly. I really have no idea of what to do next, I'm thinking that I need to send it back or something. Please offer any suggestions. Thanks.

Too thick? What is blocking the slot next to it? Take that out or move it or something.

Ok thank you all very much for your help, I was in a jam and I am new to computers (well, putting parts in them). I ended up taking out the dialup internet card and moving the sound card down a slot to fit the gigantic graphics card in. Its working fine right now... thanks again!

Lol my comp was originally from my dad's work and they only buy Dell computers. SO someone ,I'm guessing, customized it in there. :S
