How much better is the HD 5770 than the 9800 GT? My card runs fine but it's starting to show it's age. I still only play at 1440x900 but I'm getting a new monitor soon, so how big of an upgrade would hte 5770 be?

A 5770 is close to a 4870 performance wise, and the 4850 is an average of 15% faster then 9800GTX, and a GTX 260 beats the 4870. So I would say its around 50% faster then your 9800GT. If you are getting a new monitor thats 1650x1050 or bigger then I would aim for a 5850 or better.

anywhere between 20-40% increase, varying on the games you play, and whether you have AA enabled and to what level. Now sticking 2 5770's in crossfire well that would dominate, because these are a crossfire dream. There are many a benchmark showing how well the 5770 runs in Crossfire, sometimes giving 70% increases using 2 of them.

I would say at higher resolutions, with the specs and that 1gb vram, I would say it would handle most games very well.
