Well the new 8800 512's are better overall. if you already have a 320 then get a 512 it will go down to 320 on both cards. SLI will give you about 20-30% Total increase. Not really worth it unless you already own one of those cards and want to buy another. But remember , if you have a 8800 320 mb and get a 8800 512 mb and SLI them. You instantly loose about 40% of the new 8800 512mb performance.
This is all assuming i read your question right.
Well i have an 8600 gt and that doesnt run my games as high as I would like so I am planning on buying a new graphics card and doing SLI and i was wondering if there was really a big performance difference between the two cards.Xyphereos
You can't SLI an 8800 and an 8600.

im not sure you can SLI an 8800gts 512 and an 8800gts 320 either... two different cores.Whenever I've looked at SLIing it's always been with same cores. I think the 640mb and the 320mb would SLI thoguh since they're the same cores.
And you'd probably see a decent increase if you had 2X 8800GTs compared to 2X 320mbs 8800GTS. For one the GT is a better core AND it's more VRAM.

yeah sorry, the quote was ment for debusentel, don't know why i quoted you.Well i have an 8600 gt and that doesnt run my games as high as I would like so I am planning on buying a new graphics card and doing SLI and i was wondering if there was really a big performance difference between the two cards.Xyphereos
Yes thier is a really big difference between a 8600 GT and a 8800 GT. The 8600 has 32 stream processors , the 8800 has 112. Thats Very important.
IMO , Dont SLI. you only get 20-30% performance increase , not worth the money unless you are talking two Ultra's.
Anyway , get a new 8800 GT or GTS 512mb. The new GTS has 128 Stream processors and is about 40 bucks more. here is my Personal Favorite. XFX has a great warranty (Double lifetime) and amazing support. The company is very solid. The one i linked is the 8800GT XXX 512MB the newer one. (AKA the Alpha Dog Edition.)

I might just get the EVGA one because i have the drivers installed already for the 8 series cards.Xyphereos
Well thats up to you but Drivers arent really a big deal. Whatever you do though get the newer version. Like 512mb's for example.

Yeah, EVGA is an awsome company. The step up program is great too since the 9000 series is supposed to be coming out in a month.
