graphics cards... possible upgrade...

Hey guys,

i haven't been keeping up to date with graphics cards recently. So ive kinds lost track of which ones give the best performance.

Anyway, ive currently got an 8800gt, but have been looking at the nVidia GTX260 and ATI HD4870. Which out of the two give the best performance? I'd be gaming @ 1080 resolution.

Also, what is power consumption like on these two cards? I currently have a 550W PSU. I think with 35 amps on the 12v rails.

Anyone got one of these cards? WHat kinda performance do you get in Crysis, COD4, FarCry 2 etc...

They have about the same perf. except nvidia cards are better at crysis. if you want more frames in crysis then get the 260.

If you want a cheaper but about the same perf. get the 4870.

It also depends if you get GTX 260 with 192 core version (That is the normal one)

or you get GTX 260 with 216 core version.

The normal GTX 260 (192 core version) is slower in perfomance than HD 4870

but GTX 260 (216 core version) is faster than HD 4870

So that depends on it :D
