Hi, I am trying to install gpu drivers for a eMachine EL1300G-02w, I got the drivers here:

http://support.gateway.com/support/drivers/search.asp?st=pn¶m=EL1300G&site=emachines

Everything from the Motherboard drivers(the Nvidia Chipset) installed besides the GPU driver. I get the following error:

setup cannot copy the file nv4_mini.sy_

And then it points me towards the location of the file. I checked and the file does exist, but for some reason it is not working. Any advice?

Are the graphics on your computer "intergrated" or "discrete"? In other words, are they built in to the motherboard (i.e. northbridge) or are the actually a seperate component, that you can remove?

Well, It's not my computer so I'm not sure. I'll open it up and get back to you in a minute.

Ok. If its an "Emachine", the graphics are most likely integrated. You dont need to open it up to determine that tho. Just type "dxdiag" in the "run" command. That will bring up the directx files and you"ll be able to see more info about the graphics.

Whether or not the graphics are integrated or not, using the info you got from the directx files, you should head over the manufacturer's website and download the drivers from there. Its either gonna be nvidia or ati. From what your telling me tho, it sounds like nvidia. Just search for the graphics you have and download the drivers directly from the website.

The only reason i asked if the graphics were integrated or not was because, in my experience, I've noticed more support for discrete GPUs than integrated ones.

And...I'm back. Turns out dxdiag does not provide that pc with good info. All it tells me about the GPU is that it is a "Generic Device" and that I should "Install the manufacturers drivers" which I tried and got the error I provide at the first post...

Hmmmmm...try this. Considering your graphics are integrated, the model/name of the particular graphics should be on the website for the motherboard itself. In other words, by looking at the website (i think you said it was gigibyte) for your motherboard and bringing up the relative info for your motherboard, you might find the type of integrated graphics on the board. It might be under "graphics" or "northbridge". Give that a try.

Unless I'm very much mistaken, the OP's system uses a Geforce 6150/nforce 430 chipset.

You could try downloading the driver directly from Nvidia's website as mentioned by the previous poster.

No problem :). But as AequusLibra said, it is always, always better to download drivers directly from the MFG. In some instances redistributers bundle bloatware and other unneccesary software with their driver packages, and in nearly every case this usually just bogs down your system.
