Hey guys, bought grid yesterday, been playing it quite a lot today, now i think its a good game, BUT apart from drifting im finding it tough and sometimes frustrating because i have to keep hitting the "restart" option lol xD. Do i just need practice? When im drifting its the opposite, because i find it too easy and my score on the hardest difficulty is way higher than the cpu's.

Keep playing. Also mess with the driver aids to see what works best for you. Once I got the hang of it. I loved that game more than any other driving game in recent memory. It feels like real driving to me. People tout the Gran Turismo series all the time, but I've driven quite a few fast cars, and that's not how they feel to me.

Atm i have traction control off, along with stability control, and the rest on. I guess i could try with them all on, but dont get me wrong i like a challenge, although having to restart a lot is very annoying xD. Still the drifting on the game is EPIC, its so much fun man :P

What are you racing with? The keyboard? Because you might want to use a controller or wheel for it. Its way easier to throttle/brake/steer with a controller than with a keyboard.

Yeah if you are nto using a wheel I suggest saving up and buying one :P. It is so much better for racers like GRID, DiRT, Shift and more. Shift is a blast with the logitech G25.

Im using a joypad, which is perfectly fine. I think wheels are harder to use personally, but thats just my opinion. Playing that game with a keyboard would be impossible lol :)

Are you driving aggresively? By that I mean taking the inside line that would have removed from motorsport in real life? I just go a little bit faster into corners and use the cars to bounce back off, once you get in front you should be golden.

Keep practicing you will get better at it.

And remember that you can rewind time by pressing F1 button instead of just restarting, its one of the best innovations ever introduced to the genre.

Yes! i drive very aggressively because its just my style, i like to push right through at the beginning of a race to give me more of a chance of getting in a higher position early, but i'll try hanging back some more :P

Yes i know about the rewind option, i use it sometimes but the thing is its basically cheating xD. Btw does extreme difficulty make the AI more difficult than on savage difficulty or is just that you only get 1 rewind? Thanks for the response guys

Have you played Dirt2? It's not the most realistic game, but it's got a great scaling system to balance fun and difficulty for casual to hardened racing game players. But then again it's off road which probably isn't the same experience..

Grid is an amazing game. In my experience leave traction control on and you can turn off everything else. Turning it off really makes cars undrivable. With traction control on and everything else off i use highest difficulty and most of the times i manage 1st. With TC off i can barely finish the race
