Hey guys...I just installed GTA 4 and after lots of effort the game finally starts. But the issue is.. the game is facing serious lag issues. I highly doubt its cuz of my config which is Intel i5 processor 500 GB HDD 4 GB Ram 1GB Geforce 240 Please help...I try to lower the setting to medium but the problem still persist (with slight better results) What do I do :(
The game is horribly optimized. It's no doubt your GPU. Even though it's a good card which will no doubty play other new games, GTA is different. It requires a monster PC to run smoothy on high settings.
Did you patch it? The game will still have problems, but the patches helped out a lot in my case.

The GPU is terrible, no patch can help that PC run it better. Try lowering the settings to low, not medium, sliders to minimum and the intense settings off.
I played it on a 9500GT on medium, with no patches, and it ran fine. So I don't know why you're having problems. Your GPU is better than the one I played the game on.

You'll be surprised. I was using a meagre Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHz.
