It was cheaper at Direct2Drive, but that's because there was a special offer that took 20% off. Nice price anyway.Their new sale is up!

I bought GTA4 for $5 during last summer sale from Steam, I'm tempted to buy the expansion, but unfortunately I'm not really interested enough in the expansion's stories to wanna buy it.[QUOTE="Deathykins"]

I might have to reconsider then.[QUOTE="Mystic-G"][QUOTE="KHAndAnime"] I love the competitive pricing we got going. I couldn't ask for better prices in the DD market. :)shakmaster13
1 night only! You must get it NOW! That makes me wonder actually: Will Steam ever invest in a LADIES Night?! Only female gamers are allowed to play games for the evening! Is this one day only?

Definetely worth it if you haven't played them yet (and have a decent computer). I played them through twice. I would pick this up in a second if I didn't already own them on console. I'm sure I'll grab the PC version when it gets a little lower though just to have the better version.
So the Episodes from liberty Cit are worth it? And do they require GTA IV to be installed to play?the_ChEeSe_mAn2
They are stand-alone, and I think they are woth it.

I feel bad for the guy I told not to buy this a few days ago because I knew it would be on sale. This game was also on sale 1-2weeks ago i think for cheaper. I don't feel too bad though because I told him to wait for another sale, and it was only like a week lmao. Well atleast I warned him, still very bad timing.
dont worry my friend. it was me and waited, bought it now :)I feel bad for the guy I told not to buy this a few days ago because I knew it would be on sale. Bought it, gonna take so long to download on my connection...o0Pwnzorz0o
no kidding. its gonna be a long download on my 1Mbps connection. GTA4 is 15GB, Episodes from Liberty City is 16GB.
I bought it off Steam, I'm actually surprised how well it's running on my PC. When I tried it on my brothers PC it was framedropfest. His PC has a C2D E8400 and GTX460, so he's not that far off my specs.trastamad03
The quad core is what makes the difference.
The game would run better if they hadnt updated the shadow system. The new shadow system makes the game run even worse that it did originally
High and very high shadows look better than the old shadows but the draw distance is terrible, the shadows dont appear until youre 10ft away. Overall the old shadow system looked better due to the much better draw distance and didnt affect performance nearly as much.
I have the retail GTA 4 with some hack to keep it from trying to update to the latest patch that updates the shadows and I'm pretty much locked in at 60fps with very high shadows. Same settings in the Episodes but with high shadows and I'm averaging around 40fps.
Got this off D2D for £5 8) took me a while to sort out my GFWL not updating for some bizarre reason but it runs alright now... although there seems to be no way to get AA to work?

Ya it's true, I also noticed the low draw distance for the shadows... but knowing that's a console port, I just shrugged it off. I'm currently playing on all High @1920x1080 with 4xAF with the draw distances (the 3 sliders) at 30. I'm definitely around the 50-60fps range, can't really tell cause Fraps' fps counter isn't showing. Please Log In to post.
