Dont know why I never played it but it rocks.
Old schoolish now but it still kicks butt. Any mods to fix the fuzzy (occational) graphics? Did you guys like it 2?

T'was ok, but Vice City was a much better game. SA is more of the same really...monco59
I liked VC a little more than SA. I give SA a 9.9 and Vice City a 10. But still I went into heavier withdraws when SA was over. There was jus something so incredibly addictive about it. I think it was just more submersive than VC.

If your on a PC use your hardware settings for your video card and use AA and AF.
With my old p4 3.2ghz, 1 gig of ram and x800xt I could do 4xAA and 16xAF, vsync enabled at 1280x1024 with no problems.
I loved the game. Played it twice through as I got the itch to play it again a few months ago. I also liked the packaging the Pc version came with. A good deviation from the mundain.
gta is one of the best game series ever made, and while i really didn't enjoy the setting - san andreas is the best gta ever made
with the exception of gta3, we've hardly seen any leaps or bounds with the gta sequels - (just like gta london and 2 weren't far beyond gta1 in terms of improvements) and yet every single grand theft auto game manages to improve upon its predecessors in ways far beyond the simple repertoire of improvements would suggest
i see no reason for this to stop - gta4 will probably be pretty much the same, and yet somehow be far beyond san andreas in scope and quality
sa, though, is one of the best games i've ever played
Too bad our version is awkward to play w/o controller, n unplayable on controller...SaDiZTiKStyLeZ
awkward to play without controller, are you insane?
keyboard and mouse is far better for gta - out of cars it plays like a fps (and you actually have the satisfaction of aiming instead of using autoaim) and in cars, wasd is fine for car movement and the camera-controlled mouse gives you free, fluid control over what you're looking at, meaning you can see the world much better than you can with a look-forwards-or-look-sideways-or-look-backwards pad setup
the only thing i found awkward with keyboard and mouse was flying planes, but even that isn't so hard
just don't use mouse to steer and keyboard & mouse is king for gta
san andreas is great game, but some stuf fis anoying, eg while im 'simulating' real life by driving around on the highway in las venturas, then all of a sudden i have to go to san fierro beocs my hood is under attack.. other stuff like cops bumping into you and they blame you for that.. otherwise, san andreas is one hell of a great game.. you suddenly realise that vice city is sooo small...well, compared to san andreas it is. i really like flying the planes, but vice city is to small, and vice city has only 1 airport.
btw you can check out grandtheftauto.filefront.com they have some great mods, car addons, and other sweet stuff.
THE BEST GAME EVER. First time it took me four months to complete. After adjusting controller settings for mouse/keyboard the gamepad I tried with, was scrapped. No other game has given me so much value for money, and the game is not expensive nowadays. (I've bought it twice more because of cracks in the hole [hehe])
In waiting for GTA IV, many unofficial game developers have released thousands of mods to GTA SA, some changing not only cars, planes and textures, but also giving you new islands, new storylines and new competitions. The most ambitious project is perhaps GTA Berlin, which can be downloaded in beta-version now. Also under work is GTA Istanbul, bringing you moskeés and an oriental touch. It seems that Rockstar made a really good job making the "game-engine", since so many are devoted to SA-modding. - GRRRREAT!
