Okay, i can get 2 GTX 260 216's for about £30-£40 more than a single GTX 285 FTW Edition card. So obviously this seems a better deal because it is giving a little more performance. However i only play games at 1440x900, so it would seem a bit pointless to get 2 cards for SLI at this red. (I know both cards are overkill) Which would be better to get?

at that res I would go with the GTX285. It should max any game including Crysis. If the 285 is cheaper then its even more of a reason. Its kind of a toss up so when its close I would go with the single card.

I was able to max out most games at 1650x1080 with a single GTX 260 XXX Edition (192), so i would go with a third option, a single GTX 260-216

GTX 260-216 is what i'm using and i'm just amazed by the performance right up to 1920x1080. Empire total war on ultra with 4x AA no slowdown.

From your options 285 as lower power consumption tham 2 260s and you won't need more than that for sometime at your res.

You can just get 1 GTX 260 and get another if you are not satisfied.

The SLI 260s would provide more performance, but to be honest, at your resolution, a single 285 would do. You don't even need the FTW edition. Zotac GeForce GTX 285 = £274.85 inc vat

Sounds like the GTX 285 is the best to go for then :D

Now i must ask the usual question. What FPS would i get with the GTX 285 on Crysis on very high settings with no AA @ 1440x900 res? Specs are below :

Core i7 920@ 3.6Ghz (will be going to 4Ghz sometime soon)

EVGA Classified x58 ( Will be getting soon, selling Rampage II Extreme)

6Gb Corsair Dominator DDR3
