The ATI 4890 gets overall better reviews than the GTX 260. I've heard the 4890 called the rough equal of the 285, though from the reviews I've seen it looks like the 285 slightly outperforms it.
The 4890's max overclock potential can reach above GTX 285's performances, where as a GTX 275's max clocks can only match it. 4890 with it's low price is a no brainer.
