Wouldn't the 896 MB of ram be an advantage over the 4870's 512MB? Considering the fact that the 4870 already struggles with high resolutions. This is also very evident in UT3 and GRID, according to the reviews I'm reading. Assuming textures continue to get bigger and sharper....Isn't the GTX260 more future proof then the 4870?

Not just you. I will never spend more than $300 on graphics, not at the rate at which they are outdated and replaced.

HD4870 is the way to go.

This HD4870 + this coupon code [VGA72220]= $265 win.

Consider buying the HD 4870 1GB if you really think that it will be a problem in the future.

Lol, I think matrixian's graphs show that the 4870 will be around for awhile, but if you are worried about it, then just get the 4870X2 which will be out in about 3 weeks.
