In the specs for the cards it shows 2 dual slots for gtx 250 and above and anything below that a single slot. So I'm assuming you need dual pcie slots on you mobo to support these cards, right? Or am I missing something?

It means it'll take up two spaces on your rear panel due to the size of the cooler. It doesn't use two PCI-E slots to function.
Thanks for the info but, does that mean that it would fit into the 2 pci slots next to my 1 pcie x16 slot. Sorry about my ignorance on this. I really appreciate your help!

Sorry for that, to out it in a nutshell you will need to expansion slots for the card but one pci-e slot to run it now what ever is under that one pci-e slot is going to be block that one area.
