The other SLI bridge connectors are for Tri-SLI if I'm not mistaken. (if you had a 3rd GTX 275 you could link it to the other 2 that way) What makes you think your SLI isn't working properly?

Because in another thread he was only getting 70-80fps in Cod 4 when the game is locked at 90fps. Cod4 isnt that all demanding you wont see improvement with sli with a GTX 275.Plus we had him do the sli indicator, and other stuff. His SLi is working but for the games hes playing he isnt seeing the boost he wanted/hoped to see.

Well, im not getting enough FPS in games that i can easily get +100 FPS, and even in benchmarks its not supposed to be that weak? so i removed on gfx from my case, and tried to Benchmark with one, and to my surprise it got a abit higer score than when it was SLI?? i was like WTF?, and yes i enabled the SLI in the nvidia Control Panel... i just dont know what the hell is going on with it... im trying anything but until now, nothing is working and i need help!... the Game im benchmarking is Batman: AA. and my PC Specs are: CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650 @ 3.00Ghz GFX: 2xGTX 275s SLI Motherboard: Asus Striker II Extreme PSU: 850 Watts Rams: 4GB DDR3 @1600 MHZ My Resolution: 1920X1200

Only ONE SLI bridge is required for 2 GPU SLI. 3 SLI Bridges are required for Tri-Sli, hence the 2 SLI fingers on each Tri-SLI capable video card

it could be the problem either with your connector or the bridge itself, why don't you just try to sli them by using the bridge on the left two heads.

Easy

1. New video card is bad

2. SLI bridge is no good

3. PSU isnt giving enough power to gpu's

One way to test to see if its the new card is to swap the old with the new and see you have performance issues and other problems.

If you want to make sure your SLI is working go into the nvidia control panel, Advanced layout, and go to SLI. Disable SLI then enable it, if something is wrong it will let you know. Maybe something else is wrong?

Thank you. And it really is that simple (assuming you have everything setup correctly).

i did, all the steps and both gfx cards are working properly... so this means the problem is from the PSU or the bridge... but i dont think its from the bridge because i bought it brand new :S before yesterday, and the psu is strong enough... this is so confusing seriously....

Yeah there's really no chance that's the problem. A 3ghz Core 2 Quad is PLENTY for SLI gtx 275's.

What motherboard do you have? Also.. have you tried something like Crysis or Far Cry 2 with 1 card and then with SLI?

I had this same problem with my previous 9800GT's sli and I came to the conclusion that it only gives a ton of performance when it was necessary. I saw little to no improvement in games I could easily max out, but Crysis in DX9 mode with an ultra config I'd get 40-50 fps (1400 x 900.. something like that) SLI and 25-30 fps solo. @ 1920 x 1080 I'd get a solid 27-32 fps. People wont believe me for the huge performance increase, but I know what I saw. Unfortunately my second gpu fried for no reason and PNY wont refund it.

I've had 3 SLI systems.. 2x6600gt's, 2x7900gt's, and 2x8800gt's.. and in every case I only saw noticeable performance gains in games that didn't run well in the first place. Which is a good thing too, because those are the ones that need the extra grunt of the 2nd card. Well.. that and my 3dmark score went way up with SLI too.

I don't want to be the bringer of bad news but I just did some research on you motherboard and find it is being villified by user reviews on Newegg. If its not your video cards then it may be the motherboard. Just a thought.

Buy the way did you get two copies of Batman AA with the purshase of your GTX 275s? I just bought a 275 myself and love it.:)

This seems kind of trivial, but I figured I'd ask anyways.

Did you uninstall your drivers, run a clean sweep and then reinstall your drivers for when you added the second card?

Also, what driver are you using? I've had really good experience with my 8800GTS 512 in SLI using 182.50 and 190.38 seemed to work well, too. I know that any 185.xx and 186.xx drivers sucked and I've heard that the last 190.xx (not the 190.38 ) driver was kind of crappy.

I'm not sure how the newest driver works (191.07 I think it is), I'm going to give it a shot this weekend. I'm still running with 182.50. So maybe it could also be a problem with the driver you have installed.

well what did they say? if your board is faulty they should take it back

i live, overseas so there is no taking it back, and no its not faulty.... i just dont know whats wrong -_-...

The ASRock MB that I picked up a little bit ago was faulty.

I could install anything and everything, except that I couldn't install video drivers for my SLI. I could get 1 video card to work, but the second one running SLI always caused issues.

I don't know where the problem was with the MB; if it was a bad 780a chip, bad SLI connector, the SLI switch card was bad, the second PCI-E port was bad...

I could not successfully run SLI. 99.9% of the time I tried installing the drivers (I tried old drivers from nearly 2 years ago to the most recent at the time) the installation process would hang, the screen would freeze or the screen would go black; thus forcing me to hard boot. The few oddball times the drivers did fully install, after rebooting my computer it would lockup 5-30 seconds after booting into Windows. I had this problem trying to use XP or Vista.

I got the MB replaced and everything was perfect after that.

Maybe the problem you're having is something is faulty on the MB....?
