I honestly dont know which one is better, the 9800GX2 has a 512 mb bus but the GTX 280 supports Nvidia PhysyX and is only one core while the 9800 GX2 is two cores which show up and run as one on a pc, they have very similar speeds and im very confused which to get!!! Help would be greatly appreciated thanks!!!

simple answer: GTX 280

Slightly longer answer: 9800GX2 can have a nasty case of microstuttering at times so while average frames may be similar to the 280 the minimums on it will be significantly lower. Although you might wanna wait for the 295 even if you still want the 280 it will lower the price of it when it comes out

What about the GTX 260 (216) core overclocked since its really similar to the gtx 280, should i get the gtx 260 instead of the 9800 gx2?

If you consider the 9800gx2 you should look at HD4850x2/HD4870x2 theyre both faster and have less microstuttering.

If you can wait the GTX295 is a large beast, but my guess is that it may be quite expencive.

nvidia pretty much killed driver support for the Gx2, from what i've heard... so it is getting less FPS in some games than a 3850.

Well all Geforce 8's or better have physxnot just the gtx 280, and 8800's or better have cuda too. Now If you have a 8800GT or better right now just wait until the new cards come out so the prices can come down. 9800GTX(which is still a great card),GTX260,or GTX 280 are good choices. It depends on what you want to spend and what you plan on playing what games and resolution. If plan on playing 1440x900 or less a GTX 260/280 is a waste of money. A 9800GT or 9800 GTX would be the better choice for saving some money at those lower resolutions.
