Just wondering is it worth getting a 295 in early summer like June or should I wait till whenever the 300 series comes out? I mean looking at current games the 295 can max pretty much everything even Crysis, so would that extra power in the 300 series even be needed? I'd rather get a PC ASAP in summer unless the 300 is REALLY worth waiting for, opinions?

I think it will improve over the 295.. However at this point I haven't seen anything solid on the 300 series. You will be fine with the 295 for quite a while yet, and then you can just upgrade to a 300 series or even 400 series when the prices drop

You are going to end up never buying anything because if you wait for the GTX 300 then you will be saying "should I now wait for the GTX 305 or GT X310?"

i would buy 4870 1gb or gtx 260 and wait for the new card. they are pretty powerful and will run any game on highest settings except crysis. if you want to play cryiss now get the 295

but will the gtx300 be dx11 compatible? I was confused as to what others said about this earlier--is the gtx295 compatible with dx11 but just not as good as future dx11 cards, or is it not compatible at all?

Yeah if 295 is compatible with Dx11 but just doesnt handle it quite as well as 300 cards then Im not too bothered, the 295 is plently of power enough for any games. Its just debatable if it does not support Dx11 at all. But yeah i agree, I might not just keep waiting for a card and just get one lol

Thats a good question, but Im 95% sure that current gpus are not DX11 compatible and it might not be a bad idea to wait for that, but who upgrades their os when it first comes out? Its usually a good idea to wait for the first service pack and Im sure it will take a while before we start seeing DX11 games anyways.

What is your current system?

edit: oh wait patano was the one with the question..? Ok im confused :P Do you have the same question? If so please post your current system if its good enough then maybe you can wait for the GT300 on Q4 if not then a GTX295 will go perfectly until the GT300 :)

Yes the 300 series will support... DX9, DX10, DX10.1, and yes DX11 No Current Nvidia card suports DX11 (most supported is 10.1) . And about upgrading... id say wait for the new GTX 275s (the higher ramd version) get 2 for the price of the 295, and BAM u will blow any card/cards outa the water! (Specially if u OC it)

i would sli 260 core 216 because if microstutter effects the 295 you can't disable one card like you could with SLI 260s.
