nVidia will have a DX11 card by the end of 2009, and possibly as soon as June 2009. That's my prediction. I don't think it's important though because no games are even using DX11 yet. Just wait a couple years and upgrade again at that point. Or sit out this round and wait until the DX11 cards are finally available. Or go with a DX11 card from AMD/ATI with only slightly less performance than the corresponding nVidia product.

better to buy a 300-400$ card now, they will work high settings for atleast 2 years.. even tho nvidia will come out with 10 generations of card in that time, doesnt mean its necissary, only time u need the top card at all times is to play the occasional poorly optomized game, and even then its useless a lot of the time cuz nothing can play it lol

ok I just want to verify with everyone (bc several people's comments seemed to contradict each other). I can buy a gtx295 now, and when dx11 comes out it will be compatible (with a new driver download i presume?) and i WON"T have to buy a new graphics card, yes?!?

Only for certain DX11 effects. MOST modern cards are adaptable to DX 11, I believe.

I made a similar topic and yes I'm sure DX11 WILL work with current GFX cards but obviously not as well as DX11 specific cards...To be honest a GTX 295 is all you'll need right now and if it can't handle DX11 as well as you want then change the card in a couple years or add another one in SLI...

lots of stuff is comming out in the future, its best not to be concerned, just get a card now and be happy with it, dont worry bout the future cuz there will always be something right around the corner
