PNY GTX570 VCGGTX570XPB only 270after $40 rebate.... What do you guys think, should I go for it? Im just starting to purchase parts to build my pc. So far I have:

i7 2600k

16gb ddr3 1600Mhz

Msi P67A-Gd65

Any input on what other components I should get would be awesome. I was thinking about going with the nzxt apollo case and using some type of corsair watercooling... Also wondering what kind of psu I need... 750WATT?

for some reason it wont let me post with the link but it is on frys.com

Yeah that sounds like a great deal. but don't cpunt on the rebate though. And why 16 gb's of ram. And i wouldn't get the apollo. I would look into the coolermaster 922 or the nzxt tempest evo. And a 750 watt psu sounds perfect.

Read the reviews from people who own the card.

EDIT:

If you are going to get a NZXT, you should get the Phantom for cable management and fan control. A 750w PSU should be more then enough for a single 570.

ok so I read some of the reviews and I guess a lot of people are having problems with overheating and crashing under load. I think im gonna pass unless someone hear gives me a good reason to get it...

also I would rather have a mid vs full tower any other recomendations?

also I wanted to get a power supply that would allow me to go sli in the future... would 750 still be enough?

You aren't going to have much clearance in a NZXT apollo. I had one and it barely cleared my 6870. So you might want to check into a better case. I can't suggest any mid towers because I don't use them anymore. A good quality 750w will be able to handle 2 GTX 570s, but you might want to go with a 850w to have some good wiggle room. I'd suggest a Corsair TX850.

The 570 for some reason only has 4 vrms, the 560 ti and 580 have more, so voltages shouldn't be increased too much and oc potential is limited excluding the asus model and the gigabyte model. They have more vrms so oc potential is higher with them. That and it runs hot so you have to dl some type of fan control program. All 570s that use the reference design have this problem. Although, I dont really trust PNY all that much either.

The only one that I am sure has more vrms is the asus model. The gigabyte model uses 1 6pin and 1 8pin pcie cable from the psu so it might also have more.

Pretty sure the EVGA 570 classified has more vrms, supposed to have the same vrms as a reference 580 and a 6 phase pwm.

EDIT: Not to mention the huge factory overclock.

4 stars out of 5? still seems good to me our of 56 people. to bad that MSI gtx 570 has the same rebate but has 3 stars out of 5.

but it seems to me all the time you read a lot of the bad reviews they are rebate reviews which they end up giving a 1 or 2 star which gives a false positive to the item it self. save a little bit more money and get the EVGA GTX 570 for $319
