GTX 580 and GTX 580DS Differences?

Is there any difference in performance (FPS) between the two cards? I know the DS is dual shot for the fans it has, but does it amp up the performance at all or is it just gonna blow the hot air from the card, heating up the entire case more?

Oh yeah, and GTX 570 or Radeon 6970? Probably GTX 570 then step up to GTX 580. Suggestions?
