My specs are currently 3570k , 8 gb ram, and a superclocked gtx660. I have some leftover money burning a hole in my pocket. I'm looking at either 770 or a 780. Is it worth my time or should I wait for the 800 series? Im looking to play any game on highest setting 1080 on a single monitor for atleast a year or so. Mainly looking towards elder scrolls online and titanfall, maybe some bf4 whenever they fix it. I have ac4 now but havent finished the 3rd yet.

GTX 660 SC is a pretty solid card for 1080p so I would wait.

GTX 800 series is rumored to be released in the next 6-8 months which is not only not that far away but perfect timing in terms of next gen engines (by the time Maxwell comes out, next gen engines should kick in which means it perfect timing for an upgrade).

The 660 can still carry you fine until the 800 series comes out.

Should be fine with 660 SC.

Wait for price drop of 280X or aftermarket coolers for 290

I have a gtx 660 as well very similar PC specs all around and it's still running nearly all games pretty damn great at 1080P, so i'd wait it out like I am for the 800 series? no need to jump the gun to early just a waste of money when it's still running games well.

+1 for 660. I'm loving mine and it's one of the cheaper models, with one fan. Really no need for anything stronger right now, as it runs most games on the highest settings. If I have to lower something it's usually tesselation and AA - not enough to justify hundreds of $$$ for new hardware IMO.

Sounds like I'll be waiting then. I picked up a copy of bf4 at best buy for $30, curious to see how it runs

Upgrade? Jesus Christ I have a 670 and I can run every single game on the market at max settings without a single hiccup. Youll waste your money if you buy a new card in the next couple years.

And elder scrolls online? Your card will chew it up and spit out the seeds. 1) Its a cross platform game, so its not going to have some super mega engine behind it. 2) If they made it require too much they would lose a lot of their target audience. 3) It looks like ass from what Ive seen so it wont need much.

ESO looks like a game from 2007 so anything can basically run it.

I'm still waiting on that Titan performance in a $300 price tag. Hell yeah.
