I really hope that means price drops on current gen GPUs. I would love to upgrade to one.

$150 more for a 770 over 760 TI? That is insane for a 15% difference in performance if that. 7970 is still better than 770 for the price, so no worries here.

760ti is legit but the rest of the cards are the defintion of "meh". You can get a brand new 680 twin frozr for $440 (400 used) so the 770 isn't really that much of a deal at $450. The GTX 780 is only going to be like 20% faster than the 680 so its going to be hard to justify $150-200 more bucks on it versus just getting a 4GB 680 FTW/SC, 7970ghz, or GTX 770.

I have a strong feeling that alot of people will just wait for the volanic islands at the end of the year/Maxwell next summer or will get a used 680/7970ghz

My GTX 560 Ti is still fine for the time being. I'll wait for Maxwell.

I'm more interested in the 760. 660 was a much better deal than the 660ti.

I actually might know a guy on another forum to possibly buy one, lemme PM him and ask if he wants the 770 at the announced price or buy a 680 (he said he waiting to make that decision).

The 770 seems a bit weird to me. Why is it 150$ more expensive than the 760 ti? If it's anything like the 680>670 the 760 ti offers waaayy better value.

Thinking I might sell them as a pair on Fleecebay

Also I'd rather sell them to someone in the UK who can come pick them up instead of posting ( cheaper ) and i'd like to show them working fine so I don't get somebody buy them then tell me they don't work when they fudge them up.

Most people don't like the prices (minus the 760Ti) because there no real insentive to buy (as a consumer you want a deal). With the 680/7970ghz being 400-450 brand new (350-400 used) and the volanic island/maxwell not far from now, theres no real insentive to jump ship

$600 = £395.

Not bad... Not bad. But the UK is gonna jack the price up with their insane tax and exchange rate.

I'm liking the 760 Ti for $299.  That just might be the right replacement for my uber-clocked, but VRAM-light 560 Ti.

I almost did exactly what you stated (I had a gtx 560ti @1ghz and I was dying for an upgrade) but I eventually decided to get the GTX 660 SC for $170 and sell my old 560 ti for $135 (I only paid $35 out of pocket for twice the Vram and 25-30% more peformance). It should last me till the new Maxwell architecture which I can't wait to see (im guessing 40-50% boost over the 7xx series).

Mehh.. I can't see myself getting anything weaker than a GTX 670/760 Ti as an upgrade from a 560 Ti that has near 570 performance.  I know that the 660 is a great value for sure.. just not a big enough upgrade.  I'm also not willing to wait for Maxwell.

As long as I can get a 760 Ti from a decent vendor for $329 or less, I think I'm game.

Oh I fully understand. The only reason I did it was because I hardly paid anything for it/it will have higher re-sell value come Maxwell time. Rumors have it that the 760Ti is a tad faster than a 670 (5-10% faster) so a decent overclock on it should pretty much give you stock 680 performance (thats amazing value for a mid range card).

We shall see.  Even if it's only a couple of percentage points better than a 670, I would be happy with it for $300.

GTX 760 Ti seems to be of best value, the price increase from 760 to 770 is too much without big of a jump in specs.

Yeah 2GB. I don't know how much they are worth. It's really weird cuz I bought my first in the release week then I bought another in August. 1st one cost £404 second was £375, the second I bought from Dabs is now £392! ( Both reference models ) so technically it's gone up in value ( until tomorrow ). I still think i'd be better off selling them as a pair. Are you local?

I'm in south east England. I'm not really a serious buyer though, my next GPU is unlikely to be above £200, probably the 760 if it turns out well.

these prices are going to be pretty high for at least 5 months, especially since AMD hasn't countered.  Then again, nvidia always prices their cards high and they still manage to sell, so im going to bet the sheep won't care if they get fleeced.

Yeah I preferably want a 4GB card, so I'm hoping AMDs next lineup has a 4GB 8950 that doesn't cross the $400 mark

That depends on if the 760 Ti is faster than the GTX 670.  Also depends on what the price drops look like. Â
