GTX 1050 Ti is faster than the GTX 960, at a price-point of $149.

Running on a machine with Core i7-6700K, the GTX 1050 Ti sample scored P10054 in the performance preset, and X3860 points in the extreme preset. A GeForce GTX 960 on the same machine scored around P10000 and X3300 points, respectively.

Based on the 16 nm "GP107" silicon, the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti features 768 CUDA cores, 48 TMUs, 32 ROPs, and a 128-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface, holding 4 GB of memory. The chip almost makes do with slot power, with its TDP being rated at 75W. The company is preparing an even cheaper SKU based on this chip, the GTX 1050, with 640 CUDA cores, 40 TMUs, 32 ROPs, and 2 GB of GDDR5 memory, priced at $119.

Looks like AMD got some competition on the low end GPUs.

Not only they don't have anything to fight Nvidia on the high end side, but now there isn't anything on the low end side neither.

I hate the name tags this generation.. GTX1060 3GB should be named 1050Ti... It is a cut down version of the GTX1060 6GB card... This would make the 1050Ti named 1050 and lowered the 1050 to 1040 or so.

@horgen: Not quite, GTX1060 3Gb edition features 1152 CUDA cores vs. 768 CUDA cores of GTX1050Ti and 192Bit memory interface vs. 128Bit.

I didn't knew till now that 3Gb had lower CUDA cores than 6Gb 1060, and I wondered how come the performance is better if the difference is only by VRAM :D

Exactly. It has fewer CUDA cores, why is it still called GTX 1060?

I see what you meant now by GTX1040, either lowering all other classes by a number or moving up all the higher end GPUs numbers, GTX1090Ti XD I saw someone asking when it'll be released.
