Just a quick query, would I benefit from overclocking my CPU from 3.4ghz to say 4.0? I would of thought the standard clock is good enough?

Thanks

depends on the game your playing and how cpu bound it is to whether its worth it or not. the 3570K boosts to 3.8 anyway so the extra 200Mhz isnt worth it IMO.

This. I wouldn't bother overclocking unless you're going to push it to 4.3ghz or higher.

Small benefit in doing so. There is a good chance you can reach 4.1 or 4.2 without changing the voltage though. Do you play any games that taxes the CPU heavily?

I used to have my 3770K at 4.5ghz, it only gave me like 100 points extra on 3dmark 11.

Thanks people, I don't know if they are CPU taxing? I mean I play the latest Games at Very High/Ultra with everything else enabled, like Battlefield 3, Metro, FC3, Skyrim etc.

So pretty much the modern games.

I don't think you're gonna find an enormous difference in games if you leave the 3570K stock. As others have mentioned, small benifits. I've had my 3570K clocked at 4.2GHz and I play Far Cry 3 on a 670 as well, which I also had overclocked. For a moment I believed that my card was messing up Far Cry 3 and I pushed it back to stock speeds... and I can't tell the difference (turns out the latest drivers were at fault here, not the card), so I left everything at stock except the CPU.
