1. Split the game into multiple parts and release each one every year for full price

2. Outsource the multiplayer portion of your game to another company and have them include "new and exciting" multiplayer modes

3. Release the game on the XBOX, Wii, PS3. A few weeks later release the "optimized" PC version

4. Bring out a pay-per-download DLC on release day that includes bug fixes and last minute work on the game

5. Sell DLC packs that include maps, unique weapons/armor, new vehicles, and game modes

6. Have your own online game management/matchmaking system which will keep the game pure from "community divisive" mods and "corrupt/cheating" player-run servers"

7. Do not have a vision for the game i.e. there is no point where you will say "This game is finally done" - just keep releasing DLC packs that exacerbate balance issues

8. Cut all free support, server maintenance and bug fixing patches 3 months into release and start working on the next part of the game to be sold at full price

9. ???

10. Profit!!!

Nice try, but I'd only give it 4/10.

The only thing you missed out is: 11. Be a complete dick to your customers because you know they will comeback for more

True. You've gotta realize that with the way Microsoft and Sony forced the next generation, that games were gonna get more expensive right? Liberty City obviously took so much time and money to make, they remade 2 more games to try to get their money's worth out of it.It's gotta give somewhere. Most of the profit comes from the software itself, not inmerchandising.

Games like World of Warcraft rip you off, but no one seems to complain. At least not those that play it.

you forgot:

-constantly say how the PC is the lead platform and how important the PC is, even if the game is just a mediocre console port at best and it is more than obvious by playing the game for 5 min, the pc gamers thinking they are actualy important will buy your game in mass even if all you said is a big pile of bull****
