Is there any word on when these keys are actually going to be sent out?

March is the smaller beta and April will be a larger stress testing phase if information is correct.

I want in on March i've known about the Beta for like 15 minutes and I already cannot stand the wait! Ah well maybe they'll do a thing where everyone who applied for the first small one gets insta-access to the bigger one.
Gah! Naturally, I went to sleep about half an hour before sign-ups started. On the plus side, the FAQ says they wanted to focus on NA and Europe, so maybe those of us from the southen hemisphere were screwed anyway?

I got my *** kicked in GW pvp... so I stuck to PVE. My problem was.. I didn't understand what was going on half the time so I got owned bad. I hope GW2 will offer a worthwhile PVP.
Wow, thanks so much for posting this! Along with most people, I would kill to get into to this. Been following this on its website for the past year or two. And maybe it's just me, but I get annoyed seeing people saying "meh I don't really care about this game but I'll sign up anyways..."

I'm psyched for this game, really want that feeling back when you first play a new MMO, but can't get it because all MMO's either bear the same formula or feel completely off.

Being a beta tester is more than just playing the game. You should not be signing up if you're not committed to actually sending tons of feedback. You're testing the game not playing it just for fun.
