guild wars 2 beta this year?

will there be a beta soon...i just seen some footage from g-star event and i am highly impressed....maybe one of the best games ever made imo

I don't think that's too likely - they haven't even had beta sign-ups yet, and there's only a month and a half left in the year. Hopefully it won't be too far off though.

Closed beta has been confirmed for this year, and since it's closed there is no real reason for them to announce when it starts. But they continue to say they are "on track", so no reason not to think they will hold one.

They've said if they do an open beta, it will be more of a preview/stress test which will be closely followed by release.

mmhmm closed beta i expect will be for the faithful gw1 foks first before it hits general public sign-up. mainly for reasons of well honoring the loyal and making sure it rings true with the folks that know the franchise best. oh and id bet any money on an annoucement of a closed beta before or during x-mas (or the week of) arena net likes to hand out big news at holidays.

I remember ANet saying that they would like to host a closed beta this year. After that I heard nothing about the Beta. I jsut hope they can release it next year...

Im excited for this too and wish it would come sooner rather than later.

Having said that its nice to see a developer putting the time to release a 'finished' game rather than what is happening now with games. (releasing a buggy broken game and finishing it via dlc or patches... this makes me sad )

would ba a nice xmas pressie tho to have a look at the beta... but i can wait...
