Guild Wars or NWN 2

Personally, I would take Guild wars over it. Guild wars will offer you hundred of hours of gameplay.

Which should I buy, Guild Wars plus all expansions or NWN 2 Gold? I'm interested in both but ill only have time for one. And if I end up getting NWN2 should I play through NWN 1 first or does the story not carry over to NWN2?Adam-117

I have NWN2 and its graghic engine is badddd, hard on computers and laggy, game is boring for me.

Guild wars was alot more fun! plkayed it for a long time!!

But i wouldnt get either, save your money for a better game

I don't know about NWN 2, but I do know GW is a fun game. I put about 600 hours in before i got bored by it.

Guild Wars is the one to get, buy...

Guild Wars Platinum, the one that includes the original and Eye of the North, not the one with Factions, unless pvp is your primary focus.

Guild Wars was awesome, but the community seems rather dead now.

NWN2 was...a good RPG, and the expansion pack was fantastic. The game engine is a bit clunky, but the same is true for just about every other good RPG ever, so it's not that much of a problem.

well, almost all favor to GW? I however think it depends on what you like to do now --

if you want to have online multiplayer fun, of course GW;

but if you want single-player solid CRPG experience, then it's NWN2+MotB.

if somehow you decide to go NWN2, no, you don't need to play the first NWN, they are quite different games and no connection story-wise.

I would get nwn2 gold (original + expansion pack). Main reasoning: new mods will still be coming out years down the road, giving the "100s of hours" of gameplay guild wars has. Meanwhile, guild wars 2 is set to come out this year supposedly, and at the least it'll come out early 2009.RT_Jackson

There is no release date set, unless you have some solid source to back up your statement. And definately go with Guild Wars.

well it depends upon your choice i would say. if personally prefer nwn2 + expansion much more over guild wars, because i like solid sp rpgs more than online hack n slash.

also, the recent patches improve performance by quite a bit for nwn 2 and i was easily able to max all settings using 1 8800GT

Just a quick note, NWN2 is getting another expansion later this year (if release date of Q4 is to be believed). I am sure they will release another "combo pack" too, so it might be worth it to buy GW's first, then NWN2 + 2 expansions after that.

NWN2 is a pretty decent game, not quite as good as I expected but was fun. I haven't played MOTB, but word is it's a better campaign, and from what I have read the new expansion will be very good.

Oh, and like everyone has already said, Guild Wars is a fantastic game. I haven't played in years though so I have no idea what it's like now...but I am guessing it's still pretty populated.
