Here is my situation:
My parents have always been picky on letting me install games to their "new" computer, but suddenly my mother had a change of heart. I actually already own Guild Wars, but I have only played it on my brother's laptop... which is a little underpowered too handle the game (it was really laggy and slow on his computer, but it wouldn't be on the desktop). So it would be easier for me to just install it and start playing, but then again I am not sure if perhaps WoW is better?
I'd install both, but I don't wanna push my luck right now... plus, it would be kind of hard to play two MMORPG's at once. Can someone give me some advice as to which game I should buy/start playing?
My analysis so far:
Guild Wars
Pros: Free online, visuals don't look too bad, still has a lot of great RPG elements and (assuming) PVP.
Cons: Doesn't look nearly as expansive as WoW, not as many players probably play it.
World of Warcraft
Pros: Looks great, gets a lot of good publicity, recently had a major expansion pack for me to get if I actually like it, my friend plays the game as well so I'd have someone to help me out.
Cons: SUBSCRIPTION FEES! Also, I'm unsure of this, but games that use the "WASD" control scheme to move your character kind of bother me. I honestly don't know if this control scheme applies to Guild Wars or not, but for some reason I remember using a mouse to move my character when playing that game and not a keyboard. I'd also have to spend $20 to buy the game.
