Guild Wars or WoW? I know I'm late to the party.

I've just started playing GW and have been for 4 days and I'm loving it.

My questions reallyare to the people who have put a lot of time into both games:

Which do you think is better and why?

Can you define both games in the way they play? I believe GW would be for people who prefer more action, but I don't know if that's correct.

I'm asking this due to the fact that World of Warhammer is in developement and I'm wanting to know if I should get into WoW for a bit to learn the game mechanics.

World Of Warhammer? I recommend just using a 14 day free trial for World Of Warcraft to see how it is.

GW is a game for people that don't want to pay every month 10$-15$ and don't want to spend lot of time on it - basically like normal game and not some MMO like WoW

i think WoW has much more to do like any other MMO, but the combat system in GW is way better -so they both good

and about "World of Warhammer" lol it's called "Warhammer Online" - it's different game made by different company

 You're right. I haven't been in touch with the game for a few weeks now, getting old, memory fade. I love the trailer for Warhammer Online, best I seen.

Thanks for your reply. I like combat, so I'll stick with GW for now and since it isn't World of Warhammer, I won't really need to practice my recipes making skills and such.

You know what, I hate replies such as this.

I can totally afford Wow and 5 games on top of that, and you know what, I'd still rather play GW then Wow. So please, give it a rest.

Hey if you are loving GW, thats all that matters!

If you already have GW and you like it, you would be best sticking with it. WoW is awesome but it's a game that you will play A LOT if you like it. As for Warhammer that is not the same as Warcraft, they are different games. Not sure how good it will be but a lot of people say it looks good. You might be best staying with GW and when Warhammer comes out, have a look to see if it is any good.

Ok, here's a breakdown on the two games:

GW:

+somewhat faster paced than WoW, i.e. no 6 hour raids or such

+easier gameplay for beginners or people not used to playing an MMO

-missions go by pretty quick, especially the second time around on most of them

-bigger initial investment ($80+ for two expansions)

WoW:

+ MASSIVE amount of stuff to do. between quests, the professions, and your own skills, you'll never not have something to do, even at lvl 70

+ I don't know about this for GW, but there are private WoW servers that people have set up. they are completely FREE, and the rates are higher, i.e, better loot, more xp, and more cash earlier.

-but, although there are private servers, they can be a little glitchy, but it's usually not too bad

Pretty much, GW is better if you don't want to spend hours of your time making the 10 bucks a month worthwhile. WoW, on the other hand, is great for the people who really want to devote time to a game, i.e, a summer, or something like that.

I don't have Obcessive compulsive disorder and I don't want to contract it :P , So I think I'll stick to GW and GW2 when it comes out.

For a learner though, I am finding GW quite deep. I've seen my friend play WoW and I'd have to say that managing your skill sets in GW is quite challenging with only 8 slots, though I am first time through with a Monk :?
