Guild Wars still worth it?

is it still worth getting guild wars? i was thinking of getting the compilation pack for $40. but since GW2 is coming out will it be pointless to get GW? cause arent they completely different unlike WoW and its expansions where they just add on to the world? also, is it like WoW? cause i just recently stopped playing WoW becuz of the montly subscription and am looking for a similar game without the subscription. i primarily PvE and raid/dungeon so will GW suffice? Thanks!

Never too late, game is really fun despite the age and packs quite a lot of value. Even has new content being made to bridge the gap between it and Guild Wars 2.

but once GW2 comes out will GW be obsolete? like GW players cant play with GW players when #2 comes out?
