Nightfall and Eye of the North are most populated.

I think Nightfall is mostly PVE,Factions is mostly PVP and I think the other two are just a bit of both.

I would start with Nightfall to get the heroes, then move on to the other regions.

I agree with him. In some missions of factions its hard to get a group so heros can be very helpful. Also the campaigns dont follow each other and nightfall is pretty fun, even though factions is my favorite.

I say to start with Nightfall simply because you get heroes that you can take with you into the other campaigns. If you set them up with the right skills they are generally far superior to normal henchmen.

The only one that is really an "expansion pack" in the usual sense is Eye of the North. The other three are standalone games. Which ones you have determine which continents you can visit, and thus which stories you get to play through. They also determine which characters c|asses you get access to, and which skills. Some skills, generally the more basic / straightforward ones, are available in all of the campaigns. You hit the level cap of 20 far before finishing the campaign in all of them, as the game really isn't about leveling up so much. The original campaign takes the longest and in my opinion is also the toughest to get through using henchmen. There are also some PvP modes that are only available to owners of certain campaigns, but since you have all three that isn't particular relevant. If you want to play some casual (by which I mean not requiring an organized pre-made team) PvP, then I recommend giving Fort Aspenwood a try. That's my favorite PvP in the game, personally

Whichever campaign you start a character in, when you go to the other continents with that character you will start off later in those campaigns, rather than having to go through the low level missions, but you can backtrack and do the main missions (the ones that are tired to particular towns / outposts) if you really want to. All of those main missions are repeatable.

The official Guild Wars wiki is probably one of the best places to look for game info, although if you want to see some character builds (not really that useful until you've unlocked a good bit of skills) then the best place to look for those is probably PvXwiki.
