Guildwars 2 is setting herself up to jump again as she gets ready to arrive on mainland china. currently "well over 3 million" units sold globally she stands to potentially hit 4million before the day is done and will probably add some serious girth to the WvW overnight scene for n. american servers.

also the game will be moving to two big content fixes every month up from just the one

and finally the price cut on guildwars 2 digital copies has permanently been burned onto the game. effective immedeately guildwars 2 digital deluxe is $60 and the standard edition is just $50

I've really wanted to get into this game and now seems like it would be a good time, but the combat looks very unappealing to me. It just looks totally chaotic without any real tactics needed at all. I guess that's what MMO combat is and if I don't like it, tough shit, but the size of the game world and the amount of things you can do is attractive.

There is no right way to explain this, but I quite WoW after 5 years when GW2 came out, and even to this day I play it once in a while but It just feels stale for some reason...anyways good for them, its a good game but not a great MMO.

who knows, maybe they can make it a good game. The real potential for guild wars 2 is if they change the large pvp battles with castles and stuff to be more user controlled, expand the scope and control of the flow of battle and people would flock to it. The problem is not the combat but the fact that pve can only ever be so good and pvp is the real frontier to be breached, look how multiplayer games like call of duty and battlefield 3 do, when a mmo figures out pvp like those games it'll be amazing.

you mean random grenades, quick-scope headshots, and camping of helicopters?

Completely agree, although never played much WoW, I got GW2 in the hopes it would be my permanent MMO. But once hitting 80 I just completely lost interest and had no motivation to play.

I believe they've stated that their WvW populations have been consistently increasing every month

no I mean I mean fast tight gameplay where the skills of your character class can be utilized as a strategy, the WvW in GW2 is a zergfest, zergfests may be fun to look at for an hour or two but get boring as hell really quick.

The game is totally worth that price. Even if you just plan on playing through to 80 and doing the dungeon story missions. It's a lot of fun and there's so much more to it than that.

That's good. i've been playing it for about two weeks now and i have a lot of fun.(have two characters)So even if you are like me and don't like pvp and only pve you are still going to have loads of fun.

I totally depends on the class you choose, if you chose some class like Warrior or Guardian, it's true, though even they still have some options, especially Guardian, but choose a class like Elementalist, Mesmer or, especially, Thief (with Pistol in Main and Dagger in Second Hand) and you won't survive long if you didn't follow a certain attack pattern and strategy (which still leaves you the option to vary a bit between some skills)
