Originally I bought GH3 for Xbox 360, but my 360 overheated.. so I borrowed GH3 from a friend for PC.. Now when i bought the game for 360 they only had the GH2 controllers in stock but they said they worked fine for Gh3.. still with me?

so now I plugged the GH2 controller into my computer and I'm playing GH3 over the PC with it... but i'm noticing some lag issues... I don't think it's the computer i fiddled with the graphics and everything and had no change... i think that the controller is taking too much power for the USB port.

what i want to find out is: do the PC GH3 controllers work better because they are for computer?

also: is there a way to boost my USB power if that is the case.

i don't want to have to buy a PC controller so is there any way of getting rid of this lag

i suppose USB voltage/power is a solid standard, no matter what device you use.

i'm guessing it's software issue of somesort. are there any drivers available for the guitar-controllers?

or then they were wrong about GH2 controllers working perfectly with GH3.

Well, one thing I've noticed is that GH3 on PC is, for some reason, f'ing demanding, I think GH3 definatly wins worst port of the year jus because of that. I mean, my PC can run Crysis on High, with 30ish FPS, how is it possible that my PC is also the only one that I've seen to run GH3 comfortably on max settings? I mean, the damn graphics are just a bit of fun extra, they don't even look good, but you don't notice that cuz you're busy playing.
I'm seeing this "lag" with a lot of people, the game plays ok generally, but there's really weird hiccups every now and then which last for a bit and then just disappear. Dunno if that's what you're having, but the answer is probably "GH3 sucks". :)

Hmmm, it very well could be my computer then, I just never though with those simple graphics it would take so much computing power...

Here's what you need to do:

Ditch Guitar Hero in genreal. Throw away the controller.

Go down to your local music store.

Buy a $100 acoustic guitar.

Play.

GH3 recommends a 2.8 gh dual core, and a 8800 gt. These guys are not genuises when it comes to optimization. Tell you wat, if you want to play GH for pc, forget GH3. You already have the guitar, so look up "frets on fire". You can dowload EVERY song from EVERY guitar hero game + you can technically set up any song to play with frets on fire. All you need is time, but there are many songs out there that you can additionally download that other people have worked on.

I borrowed it off a mate on for PC (though the barstard forgot to give me the guitar controller).

I notice no lag - playing it on normal.

When I first started I thought it was lag - but figured it was because i simply sucked.

I was right

The recommended system is a 2.4ghz dual core with an 8800GT.

My buddy runs it fine on his 3.0ghz dual core with an 8600GT. Though...it does lag from time to time on his rig. It never lags on mine though.

I just can't get past three songs on level 8 on hard...slayer, iron maiden, and metallica...grrr...my fingers hurt just thinking about it...So impossible...
