LINK Looks like the only game that actually needs it right now *cough Crysis* is so poorly optimized for CF that even 2 HD3870X2's can't max it out properly.

HardOCP? You mean NvidiaBoughtUS.com? Thats the literally the biggest Nvidia fanboy site on the internet....

Some of their reviews are downright disgusting, I've seen them compare an ATI and Nvidia card recently and I remember in one game they had 16x AF, FREAKING AF NOT AA on for the Nvidia card and like 4x AF for the ATI card and they went...

SEE? SEE the difference? (they take screens) With the Nvidia Card we had the power to run the AF in this game, but the ATI card became playable when enabling it? They didn't say that out loud, they just suggested it as they say they test settings to find the best playable settings for any given card.

The point is they are huge Nvidia fanboys and I'd rather wait for some real reviews.....

On top of that they completely dismissed the point of crossfireX over 3 game tests? Are you freaking kidding me????

First off everyone knows Crysis is a poory multi GPU scaler and UT3 runs well enough on one card not to even need it....

And the AI comment on Crysis was the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen in my life, they didn't even try testing it (or say they would test it) in another computer to see if it was another part causing the problem and since it was the freaking AI I think you have to assume it's the freaking CPU since thats what does AI for the most part...

Ridiculous review...I'll wait for one from a site that has a reputation of not being complete fanboys....

I have heard this may times, I am not saying I don't believe it, but is there any where I can read about exactly what is going on between [H] and Nvidia.

You clearly have zero understanding of how they do their reviews. The pick the best "playable setting" for each card, meaning the ATI card in that review you read would probably have not been playable with 16xAF on. It completely makes sense for them to compare two cards that are in the same price range by doing so.

Who's the fanboy?

You clearly can't read...Did I say they didn't claim to review like that?

Do you have any understanding of PC Gaming hardware? I take it your the type of person who buys, not builds their computer ehh?

If you had the slightest idea you would know impact AF has on framerate is beyond minimal...especially when your talking high powered videocardss... (I believe the review I'm thinking of was one of their 3870 reviews)

Be a fanboy though, defend them if you want to...but other then die hard HardOCP/Nvidia fanboys most people in the know in PC hardware disregard HardOCP's results.

Any attempt of me trying to understand their review strategy went out the window after all the stories of cover-ups, massive bans for community outcries and other ***hat moves.

I've been building my own computers for at least 8 years now. I have a pretty good understanding of hardware that suits me just fine.

If you had gone and read any of their other reviews for ATI hardware you would clearly see that they are not always on the Nvidia bandwagon, only when Nvidia deserves it. Don't get all pissy just because they aren't paying massive kudos to your favorite company all the time.

 ok whatever...8 years and you didn't even know that AF has pretty much a irrelevant performance hit..

I usually take a look at HardOCP all the time just to gaze in amazment of how far they are willing to goto protect Nvidia...

Their reviews speak for themselves, I could collect results from dozens of other sites from any given game and compare them to the results they show and you'd see that ATI on average pull in far lower frames a second then it does elsewhere...

Your defending a site that BANNED DOZENS of it's own members for pointing out a mistake they made! Some of the members were on their forums for years!

You can be a fanboy and defend them till your face turns green, but most people here aren't going to buy it, HardOCP is a Nvida fanboy site plain and simple.

usually when sites review hardware, they put them through the SAME tests as the other peice of hardware they are reviewing. this way they can eleminate any possible way one peice of hardware will be greater than the other based on faulty testing. its been proven to work time and time again.

you cannot test the "best playable setting" otherwise you will not be able to see wether or not one card is greater than the other. thats like saying my 6600gt can play CoD4 better than the 8800gt when the settings are on the lowest for the 6600gt and max for the 8800gt (not saying it is, just an example).
