Half Life 2 ain't working

Hey guys, i have this problem, I launch HL2 and it freezes (does nothing no matter what I do or how long I wait) and this is in 64 bit mode and even when I go into 32 bit mode it doesn't even launch, I've tried so many things to fix it but nothing ever seems to work, what can I do??? My computer is windoes vista if that has anything to do with it

Are you getting the "not enough Ram" message? I've had the same problem for a while now, using XP 64 bit, and nothing fixes it.

nah its not "not enough ram" its like a"HL2 not working, windows is looking for a solution to the problem" and it never finds one, PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME!

Have you tried to -Verify the integrity of the game cache- option in local files under HalfLife 2 in your games list?

Don't know if it'll help, but worth a try.

If your running 64 bit vista you have to type "-32bit" without quotes in your launch options. It will not run without this. This valuable information has been provided for you with the expectation that you will refrain from using the word "ain't" again.
