Half Life 2 Cinematic Mod V10

This has been posted on these forums like a year ago, but anybody that missed it...

If you check out the downloads section on my forum, you will find the Cinematic Mod Version 10 torrent. It's 9GB in total!!!

You need to have Half Life 2, Episode 1 and 2 installed - and already started the game once before installing the cinematic mod.

I've got it on my system - it will probably upset the puritans who don't like the extra orchestral scores in the track (although personally I love it) but I really like the newer higher detailed models on Breen and Alyx

The graphics are nicer and having Alyx's assets jiggle around sure made me look twice, I wondered wtf? And the size of her posterior!? lol wow the modders need a girlfriend. After playing the original a few times, getting to know their faces, it makes it feel weird for me.

Actually it's just ONE GUY that worked on this mod. Honestly that pretty surprising considering just how much detail and time he put into it all. My biggest complaint is that yes, he added a lot of epic music score to the game....but 80% of it you hear through the game is just the batman dark knight score....

Oh, and also, need to work on compression a bit more. The install size is huge!!!!

I love what they've done with the environments, but I hate hate hate those character models. :X

The score can simply be deleted, to restore the previous music. The character models can be selected as per the wish of the user, using a client included in the pack. For instance, there is a HD version of the original Alyx; which I prefer personally, the extent of the difference with the newer version of her seems sacrilegious to me :P.

Same, I just know the voices to the faces after playing for so many years... they can't change them like that! I wonder if there's a way of leaving out the character textures and just keeping the scenery.Anarchist-TKC-1

oh wait, you don'thave it?? yeah, there is a way, just use the character pimper utility. They've got the option of using the original models and some HD versions of the originals

wahey! Yeah I used the Character pimper. I've chosen to keep all the original characters, but they've all been buffed up too. I originally thought they were replaced with newer characters, but you can choose which ones you want. Along with all the updated scenery too. I'm so playing HL2 from start to finish in all 3 episodes heh!

I just recently started playing HL2 (so I can finally play Episode 1 & 2) so this seems like a pretty good idea but the mod 9.7 gigs! Thats bigger than the game.

I found that it wasn't worth nearly 10gb. It looks better, but not a ton better and it certainly doesn't look as good as many modern games (i think HL2 is still one of the best looking ones, but not most detailed).
