Half Life 2 : Episode 3 - Hopes And Wishes.

To be honest, half life 2 : episode 3, i hope it never comes. Ever!.
It is apparently going to be the conclusion of half life - So, I want a new engine for the game, because now apparently the source engine is outdated... But anyway, I hope it is never half life 2 episode: 3, i want half life 3, A full blown , High Budget, conclusion to the gaming phenomenon that is half life!

Anyway, I hope Episode Three brings:

• A single-player campaign as long as the original Half-Life 2
• More physics-based puzzles
• Less vehicular sequences and more onfoot combat/exploration
• An epic story
• A better AI, more intelligent enemies, human or alien
• The powerfull Tau-Cannon
• The cute Houndeyes
• The missing Hydra
• A double barreled Shotgun

Oh, I almost forgot:

something incredibly innovative and unexpected, gameplay wise

a spectacular ending

It's the last Episode, not Half-Life.

Anyway, I just want to see episode 3 come out this year. It's been over two years without any news, screenshots, videos, teaser trailers, or even a short press release blurb. I dare say that Episode 3 is trying to overtake Duke Nukem Forever as the best game that never was.

Idon't know if "won't end at E3" means it "won't end" at Episode 3, but I'm pretty sure that he said it "won't end at Episode 3".

So yeah, until they say otherwise, it will continue after Episode 3.

A cool Driving sequence. Beautiful scenes and settings like in Ep: 2. Alyx as a sidekick for most of the game. A good conclusion to this story arc. More info about Aperture and Black Mesa. Maybe a mention of Portal just to add to the lore.

Most of all I hope that it is as long, if not longer then Half Life 2. I also hope they incorporate the portal gun, retain or only slightly modify the graphics and physics engine, reveal who the G-man really is and clearify a lot of things in general, and I hope the story ends on an amazing note!

I just want it to come out this year. And it to be better then Episode 2 (if that's possible).

My wish: for it to exist.  That alone is enough.  It's becoming the next DNF.

Only two of them:

1. That it is actually currently being worked on, with intent to release

2.  Source "2" engine (dunno what they'd call it)...I bet it'd be freaking amazing, and run on anything.

It's obviously a google bump.  I don't see why users hate this and demand thread locks, it doesn't happen frequently enough to be a problem (at least for me).

Pretty soon it's going to be TEN years since half-life 2,  folks. Forget it. Valve doesn't care. My nephew doesn't even know who Gordon Freman is, that's how old we are, and thats how ancient Half-life 2 already is. The decade has been more than enough for developers as talented as valve to come up with something unique and clever for ep3 or half-life 3...yet there is nothing, why? simple: they don't care.

At this point, I'd be fine with either of these scenarios-

1) Valve releases a full-blown Half-life 3, with new engine.  It should be as long or longer than HL2, and pick up roughly where HL2: EP2 left off.

2) They release Episode 3 on the Source engine.  It should be longer than Episode 2.  Then they releasse Half-life 3 on a new engine within a year following it.

It makes NO sense for Valve to use another graphics engine when theyve spent so much time building their own. 

Valve is working on HL3 or HL2 ep3. It has a 3 in it. :P But yeah, don't worry, they are working on it. They were just waiting for new source engine, new gen consoles. Gabe new that a new, major title Valve game wasn't going to cut it on an aging source engine (which has aged gracefully btw). If Valve is going to "wow" us, it will be on a new source engine, new gen, and they will probably be the biggest showing at a conference or convention. You betcha.Elann2008

I think they would have been fine with the "old" Source engine had they come out with Ep3 in 2009/10.  Maybe even 2011.  I don't think they can really justify it taking this damn long with all of their talk of episodic releases.

I think someone needs to run upto new users, grab hold and shake them saying "What year is it? Who's the president?"
