Half life 2 loading

Why when I play half life 2 it takes a good while to load in game play

...and? are you asking a question? do you want to know how to make it run better or what?

have the settings too high for you're computer specs? No one here can really help you because you failed to give even the slightest of details...

Okay heres some details I have a nivdia 9600 grapic card on a desktop computer and I run half life at mostly high settings without to much slow downs but when I play the game and enter a new area it loads for 50 secs or more so my question is why does it take so long ?

Slow hard drive, insufficient free ram and/or possibly weak processor.

exactly what the previos post states and half-life 2 does take alittle longer to load then some other games. episode 1 and 2 are much better at load times.
