Half Life 2 loading times...

Is it just me, or does Half Life 2 load very slowly? I run the game at maximum settings with absolutely no lag (couldn't tell you my exact FPS, although I can say it's easily 120 strong). But whenever I come across those "Loading..." points, it takes longer than it should, it seems. Anyone else have this problem?

yeah. the hl2 loads are kind of long, even on high end pcs. the thing that bothers me more is that it registers control movements during the loads. i can't tell you how often i've come out of the loads facing in a different direction than when i went in. i hate that.brianpoetzel

LOL, really? I don't touch my mouse or keyboard when it's loading. That's kinda funny, actually.

Yeah, even with my 7900 GTX, the 'load points' are quite long. Cant help itrohver

It's about the processor and ram.

i also had a problem with hl2 loading, it was taking like 1~3 minutes to load, it was one of the first games i installed, 2 days after i discover a program called "AI Gear" that comes with my P5B Deluxe, in there i crancked up the speed from silent to perfomance, the cooler went really out loud and the loadings in HL2 dropped to 15~30 seconds =X

Roughly 10-20 for me also, but it's kind of annoying. Most, if not all of my games have instant loading times, lol.Skullheart

well i guess it's HL2 graphic engine - still....it's good game and it's not bothering me + you've got a break to drink something - which is nice :D

Lol exactly :P As a side note, this is my first time ever playing Half Life 2. I thought this game was just cool before, but now...

[spoiler] I just passed the part where you get everything confiscated, except you become even more powerful and your gravity gun is all uberrific. NOW the game is badass. [/spoiler] :D
