Half-Life 2 - AI disabled ... STILL not fixed!?

What kind of service is this? My Friend and I have both pre-ordered The Orange Box, anda re able to DL & Play HL2/Lost Cost/Ep 1 .... but that damned AI disabled crap is there for both of us...

What is the actual FIX to this!? Its quite bad that thye allow something like this to happen, I remember a few months back I had to bind a key command to turn AI on/off .... is there a PROPER fix for this? So frustrating....

There were a few instances where this wasn't true, but those cases were VERY rare from what Valve said. I have a hard time believing that both him and his friend both encountered the diabled AI problem with legitimate copies.

Believe what the hell you like, I have on my "NOT INSTALLED LIST" ... Ep:2 / Portal / Team fortress 2 and I'l be playing the Beta tmrow, it DOES happen with the real version, I'm not suprised VALVE are spouting crap again as usual.

Valve are lieing that it was rare. It may be rare currently, because I believe they patched it up, but it certainly was a lot more common in legitimate copies that you guys claim it.

So I have purchased the whole set and I was having this problem too and came across this thread. I can't believe these pricks refused to believe that it could happen, what blind ignorance. And to go so far as to calim your screenshot was photoshopped, that's just retarded.

But yeah, since I ended up here long before I fixed my problem, i thought I'd include this fix for anyone else who happened to end up here but found this nothing more than an irritating conversation with no resolution:

----------The Fix----------

open Notepad and type:

ai_norebuildgraph "1"
ai_disable "0"

Save this as ai_fix.cfg within your hl2/cfg folder for the game giving you issues.

Open the valve.rc file from that same folder using Notepad and under the section called "// run a user script file if present" add a line as follows:

exec ai_fix.cfg

Save and close all the files, and pinga-dinga-boom; your legally purchased game should run properly.
