Crysis will blow anything away for some time... Crysis will still look gorgeous in 2 years.. Halo 3 will be good though... If only crysis wasn't right next the corner... Knowing me i'll buy both, but when crysis out, i'll probably give some rest to my 360 for some time...
Just hope my 8800 gts will be up to the task!!!!
. Idk what do you guys think about this matter? Am I missing a vital part of the argument or something? Forerunner-117
it really shouldn't be a matter of argument, no amount of rational or logical discourse should make someone choose something they have decided against after having given it reasonable consideration, it's like me arguing my favourite colour is blue, then you changing your favourite colour from red to blue - why would you change your mind?
people who play pc games do so because they prefer them, and have the means to play them - that's all it is
if you prefer consoles, go play console games... there is no argument to be made
as for me, i have the means to keep my pc in a state that i can run high technology games with high end visuals without crippling my bank account, and i far prefer the depth of pc games, not to mention keyboard and mouse
but a note on cost, console games cost nearly twice as much, and their absurd lack of lifespan typically causes your garden variety hardcore gamer to buy many more games, so the pc/console prices usually pretty much balance out, in my experience, it's just with pc the money comes as a great mouthful, while with consoles it's smaller nibbles, just far more regular...
Man. I was dead set on getting a new comp. And Crysis, Orange Box, and CoD4 had me way pumped. But now I just saw the latest Halo 3 trailers and I must say, they made me tingle lol Now I'm wondering if it would not be wiser for me to just get the limited edition Halo 3 Xbox 360 for $400 instead of getting a $1500 PC. *sigh*I mean, with the 360 I'll only have to upgrade one thing (the console) and in what like 5 years? I hear that comps have to be upgraded 2-3 years to keep high settings on new games. And you pay approximately 3 times the amount for the PC. Idk what do you guys think about this matter? Am I missing a vital part of the argument or something? After all, 360 also gets Orange Box, and CoD4 and also the 360 exclusive Mass Effect!Forerunner-117
Crysis, easily. Halo 3 isn't on the PC and that's why it sucks. :)
Hey,does anyone else see the same pattern from 3 years ago, when doom 3 came out early autumn, half life 2 in november and halo 2 at about the same time?i'm saying bioshock is the modern equivalent of doom 3(dark indoors enviroments, horror themed story),crysis, coming out in november is like HL2(eventhough it's a successor to Far Cry,i'mtalking about release dates, but also in graphics, physics, outdoors enviroments, alien invaders and the likes),and halo 3 is...halo 3.
Anyways,i have no xbox to play halo 3,so all i have to guide my opinion are numbers:halo 3 alreadyhas 1.5 milion preorders, just in the USA.The story, thefamiliar but satisfying gameplay, and the sheer mass of customization options makes Halo 3 the winner.
Crysis hasnt been released, so I would say halo. Though when crysis does come out, people will have to play it before passing (accurate) judgement... crysis might just look good and not play well, but the gameplay trailers make it look really fun, so we'll see.
Btw, since this is the pc board, im sure you wont get very positive answers... at least towards halo.

HALO s***s... if there is DX20 still will be s**t.are u serious?crysis lacks of gameplay.u can't compare this aa game with halo3 (aaa).don't be ridiculus.katseaz
Haha, you must not have seen any of the crysis beta footage that's been floating around the net. Crysis will smoke Halo. Every video that i've seen of halo 3 gameplay screams of an average shooter, with standard and uninspiring elements that bring nothing new to the FPS.
Now watch some user posted footage of crysis and you'll see the opposite being true. While i was initially skeptical of crysis gameplay and especially the multiplayer, i'm now convinced that this game will in fact deliver a novel and revolutionary gameplay experience, not to mention graphics that blow the socks off of halo 3.

It really comes down to the games that you want to play.

my advise - wait till KZ2 comes out atleast, the earlier one was such a letdown.

Hmm... yeah what you're saying makes sense. People have been telling me that i can get a very respectable rig with $1500. and yeah Crysis just looks waaaay awesome! All the new physics and gameplay whereas Halo 3 seems to not bring anything new to the table. But this could be the deciding factor right here. If halo 3 does EVENTUALLY come out for the PC, then pc basically owns the xbox 360 and the decision between 360 and PC is pretty much a no-brainer. So do you guys think that Halo 3 will be released for the PC sometime in the future? I mean, afterall, halo and halo 2 came out for pc even though it took awhile XD
Halo 3 is going to come out for pc around the same time as DX11, when every game will look like crysis, and Halo will still look like Halo and nobody will play it.
Anyways get the gaming rig, while I suspect Halo 3 and Crysis will score about the same, you have to take into consideration the hype of Halo 3 and knock a few points off. Although I'm a bit worried about the Crysis multiplayer. Far Cry's multiplayer was abysmal, I'm not talking about the gameplay, but I couldn't even connect to it. EA is a bit better about that then Ubisoft but I expect there will probably be around 1GB of patches before it gets working properly, and this might hinder Crysis.
Also Halo 3 is on a console, so while it will be insanely fun for a while, after a few months you will grow bored of it. The only thing new will be maps. While Crysis is on PC and there will probably be lots of mods and other goodies.
