welcome to the forum, mate :) ....i hate to say this, but guys around share the hobby or Halo bashing, so, you wouldn't get lots of positive feedback, if any at all.

as for the demo....i think UT2k4's demo is a much better option, with smoother performance, more modes, and more active community ( since it connects to the full version servers as well ). maybe you should try it out.

halo 1 does not use Live but Halo 2 does and silver membership is free. Anyone can create a silver gamertag by visiting www.xbox.com . halo 1 does not need any type of membership, i never played it but i am sure it's the same as all PC games. Browse servers and chose one.
