2 Hard drives, both the same specs but one with 160Gbs of space and one 320Gbs of space. Are they both the same speed if there both 720000 rpm? Are smaller hard disks faster?
Same specs will give the same speeds. HDs have multiple platters so it's no longer one giant platter it's reading off of. The larger drive may have 1 or more platters, but you aren't going to notice that small of a speed decrease.
The bigger slow down on larger drives comes into play when you neglect to defrag it and of course scanning for spyware/viruses is slower just due to the larger size.
