Is it realistic when you make sure the area is clear? Then suddenly 100 enemies pop out of nowhere and start shooting, sure it's hard but not realistic.
I've never been so frustrated in any game until i tried STALKER CS, even on Novice the game is damn hard. I would think it would be impossible to beat this game on master..If anybody beat it on that difficulty i give you alot of credit..

That's just a broken respawn timer, it has nothing to do with the intelligence of the enemy. I had this problem once in the first Stalker and never in CS, but both games behave absolutely random from user to user.
I guess Stalker likes me because I like the book and the movie.
I've never been forced by a game to THINK as much as in Clear Sky.
umm ok. Hard != smart A.I There are numerous factors that may cause enemies to be insanely difficult, although they can have the worst AI. S F.E.A.R has been the smartest, AI ive seen. How they use team communication and tactics within ttheir own squad. Only game i can think of where ive been flanked o.o As for Stalker.. a few times ive just been able walk up behind the enemy and HS them.. Sure i kept dieing, but that was due to me having a lack of ammo/health kits and wave after wave of troopers appearing..
You could try America's Army Co-op. I remember the AI kept busting me up in that game. You have to move slowly or they'll spot you and take you down with 2-3 bullets.
I was just playing STALKER: SOC a little while ago and ran into a group of soilders and ran around a building and they piled up next to a tree. One nade took out 6 soilders.
I remember going "Holy Sheep" while playing FEAR original because the AI was just too darn good. I don't ever recall doing that for either of the STALKER games(or any other game for that matter), but i'll say they're quite impressive as well.
there hasn't been a single FPS that i can't outsmart with little to no trouble, even on the hardest difficulty, so...yea. not saying i'm special, it's just that many people seem to confuse difficult situations with AI. that's just not true.
No one crysis eh? good because i dont consider it good ai... neither stalker id say fear as for tough ai... well every hard game with ridiculous crap like shaking enemies that move like dancing and make you miss... eg jedi knight 2

Nobody said the AI for the STALKER games was perfect but it is still better than the majority of the games out there with the exception of FEAR which has a better AI in my opinion.

F.E.A.R.'s AI is best imo, don't know abotu hardest but definatley the smartest, I'v never seen any other AI flank you that effectivley, and they would dive through windows to avoid grenades
Are you sure you want hardest, or most realistic? Hardest would be any game that has it's AI set to have wallhacks or aimbots, I know plenty of games which have the former. Realistic would be that they don't know you're there unless you shoot, walk too loudly, etc.

Exactly. Not every realistic AI is difficult and not every difficult AI is realistic. Confused? So am i........
ok the most difficult ai? well its not 100% the ai that makes it that hard but id say the most difficult fps is "Glowing red reckon advanced crapfighter" but GRAW 2 is ok!
