6800 GT

1 gig ram

And it ran pretty good, I guess.

512 ram

GeForce 7800 GS

Runs very well on medium. Can run on hard and actually runs very well if you are not fighting. If you face an enemy though, it isn't a good experience tho not thaaaat bad.

I'm interested to hear too, but I'd want a bit more detailed info, as in average fps and resolution. To some people 25fps is "good", and to some it's a slideshow...

Wow, nice. I read somewhere the dev's comment about it running "perfectly" on 8600, but I didn't really believe it. Is it 8600GT or GTS?

It seems like they have done a good job with optimizing the game. Not to say my computer is a fair comparison (quad with an 8800gtx ko) but it ran a lot faster than i was expecting for the visual quality. Everything on max at 1280x1024 (max my monitor supports) it was running very very well. It looks great but runs like it is an old game in terms of performance.

No just good developers. If you dont' program it right it would run terribly. but they have done an excellent job optimizing the game

Yeah, I think thats the reason... These guys put a lot of hard work on getting a beatiful game to run on modest rigs. I wish every developer would put that amount of work on optimizing their games.

Ran normally on my AMD 64 3000+, 1GB of ram and 6600GT 128MB. I also tried to use the high shader mode (it really makes a big difference) and that also ran pretty normal but during fights it can get pretty messy. Lucky for us, the game isn't so fast paced. Also, there's a new beta driver on fileplanet.com, it actually makes the game more smooth. I noticed the difference right away after installing the new driver.

My sentiments exactly. I was waiting for a few people to say how it played on a slow rig because you can't always trust the devs. I have a 2.4 GHz P4, 1GB of single-channel ram, GeForce 6600GT 128MB AGP, basically the EXACT minimum specs. I was not sure if I was going to buy this game, but now, I am. ...mostly because I'm getting a new computer, so it doesn't matter anyway. I got a 1.80 Ghz Pentium Dual-Core. I'm going to have 3GB of DDR2 (once the extra memory from newegg arrives). I got a 256 GB 8600 GT. Not screaming, but definitely going to play this game. I was thinking there was no POINT in putting Vista on this box (even though I have the OS) because I didn't figure the graphics card was going to handle the DX10. I figured I'd be hurting my performance if anything. Interesting that someone said they got DX10 running on this card. I may put Vista on my new machine anyway, since MicroSoft is going to require it for all their new games (and I kinda want ShadowRun), DX10 or not. I just hope there is a DX9 mode for Vista in case my card can't handle DX10.

I'm running it on an alienware 7700 laptop with:

2.4 gig AMD

1GB of RAM

256MB GeForce 6800 Go

i turned off wthe option that makes stuff really shiny, but other than that, i've got everything else on, settings at high, and 1024x768 and it's playing smooth and clean.

Sounds0DD, you can play on your 7700 without burning yourself. I have the 7700 as well, and the surface is hot enough to hurt, and my games stutter all the time. What's your secret? and does anyone else have a solution to the 7700 overheating? I'm picking up Bioshock today and I'm both dreading and looking forward to the experience.

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+, 2010 MHz

2gigsofram

ATI Radeon X800 XL 256MB

IcangetthefirstcinematicontheplanethenitgoesblackandallIcanseeissomefire. I turned down everything but it doesn't help. Can my rig not play the game? Or did something go wrong with installation?
