Has anyone finished the Main Quest in Amalur yet?

I have...finished it at Level 37, and reached Tier 6 (Universalist) with a Finesse-Sorcery-Might combo. The final boss battle is different and fun. For those who might be wondering, the game does continue after the credits roll, which is a plus in my book.:D Anyone else gotten through the Main Quest?

Not yet, I'm in Klurikon - level 23 about 37 hours in.. keep getting distracted by the faction questlines.

Doing a 2h Might/Sorc build, the magic shield once you get damage orbs + relentless assault actually go really well together.

Quick question, is going through the game doing all the sidequests first then going back and doing the main story all at once a viable gameplay option? I'm not really fond of the story lines twisting so that I forget what happened last since I got side tracked. I just don't want to gimp myself somehow.

Yes, it's viable because the Quest screen gives you a synopsis of each questline, and keeps a running history of what's done and not yet done. I stopped doing the Main Quest for a long time so I could level-up a lot first.

Is it possible to just stick to the main quests and skip the side-quests?

Yes, but you'll have a tougher challenge on your hands, due to not being at as high of a level. Usually what I did was to quick-save before talking to a questgiver, that way if I didn't like the quest I would just reload my quick-save.

So, how is the game? I've only played the demo. I liked the artwork and music. I wasn't crazy about the gameplay. I guess I'm asking if the storyline and quests are interesting.

Some of the quests are interesting, some aren't - it mainly falls into the realm of personal taste. The Main Quest has the most involvement. Some side-quests I encountered had a unique twist to them.

As far as gameplay goes, the combat gets better because you get to choose how you level, what weapons to use, what to wear, and so on. The best part is, if it doesn't go the way you want, you can reset everything and reassign all of your level points.

Loot you pick up, you have more options than just selling them, you can break them down, build new stuff, and even name your creations.

I think it's a great game because of this - say you start out as a mage and wind up not liking it, you can switch your level points and become a full-on fighter, a rogue, or any combo of the three (or two, depends upon what you want).

Oh, and one other thing I liked, you don't have to be a rogue to open locked chests.:D

Huh. Well, thank you for the info. Maybe I'll check it out for myself.
