Now i understand GS are busy, i understand they have a fair few games to get through. I don't understand however why they seem to be treating PC as a second class citizen of gaming.

I mean where is the Clear Skies review? Where is the Warhead review? They also seem to miss out the PC version from multiplats. Isn't Mercs 2 on PC too? i see a 360/PS3 review but no PC.

Now i know they are busy but when i see this, http://au.gamespot.com/pc/adventure/outcry/review.html but no review for clear skies, a game i have owned for a week, it worries me.

Maybe i'm being to harsh but im begining to think GS is not the place for a PC gamer.....IGN on the other hand....

In my experience It's not uncommon for GS to not release reviews for sometime until after release. My understanding is that they want to ensure that they take the time to fully play the game instead of attempting to get it out ASAP. I beleive in situations where the review is out on launch day is typically because they got an early release copy to work with.

In terms of Mercenaries 2 I think the fact that the game came out for consoles first make that the focus for the review. While they might do a review for PC's it's going to be very similar to the X360/PS3 review so it's probably not a top priority. Also regarding Clear Sky it only came out in the US today/yesterday.

I've long moved on from this site for news or reviews. It has great forums though and they are glad to have me looking at their advertisements.

I get the feeling that GS much prefer to mindlessly drop a disk into a 360 and pop a squat on the couch, and play through it that way. No doubt that the entire review will be based on the experience of the console version. Sure, the reviewed might play the PC version, but probably just long enough to justify docking the review score .5 points because the game doesn't run as well on a 486 than it does on a intel duel core.

Don't waste your time looking for good PC game reviews at GS unless you're terribly interested in reading the opinions of a bunch of console fanboys.

Pretty much. I wouldn't bother looking to Gamespot for PC reviews as they are pretty "out-there". Especially compared to their console counter parts. I'd try to pay closer attention to PC Gamer and dedicated PC gaming magazines. But in the end, nothing compares to trying the game out for yourself.

Grid was released on 30th May and GS has not yet reviewed the PC version - and probably never will.

GameSpot is the worst major games site for PC content, but I can't trust their reviews in the first place when Oblivion scores higher than Baldur's Gate 2, when Gears of War scores higher than Max Payne and when BioShock scores higher than System Shock 2.

GameSpot is simply not a PC friendly site. It's just unfortunate that it also happens to have the largest PC gaming forum community (that I know of).

Easy, they are lazy...

And maybe they should hire some more people, if they say they are so busy.

I don't know, but when I look at GS review, there is only one reviewer that I trust and that is Kevin Vanord. The others...meh. It was cooler when Alex and Greg was still here.

If you are looking for PC reviews, you are at the wrong place. Great forums and maybe PC previews but its best to look for reviews elsewhere. GS either has an attention span of a casual consolite or just review the most hyped up games.

Warhead is out retail, and yes, Gamespot is always late with reviews. I do not count on GS for PC news.

They'll review exclusive pc games and some multiplats but no matter what system they all get the same score.

however their pc dept. has gone to the bottom of the hill years ago.

Yeah, it's more than sad really. It wasn't always like this. I used to read and get excited about a game here and then have to wait untill it came out. Now I will often learn about a game's existence from seeing it in stores..

i agree, they are no good for pc games. Jason Ocampo was their only good pc reviewer. forums are they major reason i come here. The quality of GS has been decreasign in other areas and not just pc games. for ex: they had lots of cool feature like greatest games of all times etc which are now almost stopped.

No. Its just that the GS staff has gone through a few changes lately and things aren't as smooth as they used to be.

Gamespot doesn't even have enough reviewers to cover PC gaming as a whole. They completely ignore an insane amount of games (think: the whole indie scene, for example). The few reviewers that they do have basically have no clue about PC gaming in general and review PC games like they review consoles games (simple, easy and dumb scores higher than complex, hard and complex). Let's not even mention the treatment that they give to the adventure genre and other "niche" genres.

If you want reviews, go to gamerankings.com. BTW, Crysis Warhead is at 91.5% with 4 reviews.

I come here for the game updates, and occasionally the forums.

Most multiplatform reviews are pretty much copy paste jobs, with maybe a couple sentences describing any differences in performance on PS3 or 360. But yeah, no mention of PC is usually made. Not when it is a multiplat launch. Obviously when GTA 4 is released on PC they will do a PC review, but for simultaneous launches they usually don't bother.
