So I hate to feel like an idiot, or ask other people to do myresearch, but unfortunately I'm kind of an idiot when it comes mto computer things. I plan on buying a laptop this week from Amazon (I have an Amazon card so that is key) but I really dont know what is a good deal. I dont plan on doing any gaming really, other than playing some of the older PC games from Good Ol Games so it doesnt need to be super powerful, and I'd like a CDRW drive so I can burn CD's, and Wifi but other than that I dont really have any other needs. So if anyonewho is knowledgable in these things could offer some suggestions that would be great. One other thing is I am trying to stay under or right around $500. Thanks in advance for anyone who is willing to help or offer advice, and go screw to anyone who is a jerk and tells me to go look on my own cause I already did and felt like a dope

Your needs seem pretty light, and any laptop on Amazon for 500 bucks will do what you ask and then some for that price......

Personally I would look at brands in this order that fall within your price range (best to worst): Asus Acer Lenovo Toshiba Gateway HP Dell
