I wanna buy this six-core with my tax return.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103851

What is the minimum size PSUI would need to power that, as well as a gtx 260?

Also, how do I pick out a motherboard for it? I know about matching the socket type, but does the wattage matter? Or anything else like that? I'm trying to keep it as cheap as possible.

Thanks.

A good 550watt should be fine, and any AM3 socket with a TDP of 125watt.

well whats your budget.. agood cpu like that is great but its about balance.. computers with one really super strong part tend to be lopsided in preformance.

this isnt to say one cant cut corners but its not exactly like its safe to pair really powerful tech with something fossils old*...

so if you want we could offer some advice and assistance..

probably save you a few ucks along the way..

so yeah purpose and pricetag would be appraciated.

as well as anything extra you may need 9monitor, mouse, keyboard, operating system etc.)
