Hey, hope this is where this should go. I have a high-end Alienware gaming laptop with plenty of RAM running Windows Vista Home Edition, but I can't even install The Sims 1. I put in the disk and nothing happens. The thing pops up that says auto-play but I click that and it does nothing. I go to Computer, see the thing in the drive and right click Properties but there is no tab to run it in compatibility mode and there is no need to "Run as Administrator" because I only have one account on this laptop and it is an Admin. account. What should I do? Thanks.

EDIT: I got it to work. I went into msconfig, went to start up, unchecked everything, restarted and it worked. Dunno' why but, yeah, all set.

Try, right clicking the disc in My Computer and clicking explore, then double click the installation file. Try setting it to Run as Admin aswell.

I tried explore and click things, nothing happens. I go to each file that has the option to run like XP SP 2 and still nothing! I individually run each file that I can to run as admin. nothing! I click properties on my computer on the disc but there is no option to run as admin. every time.

I'm having the exact same problems as you are. Except I managed to get the original disk installed. But now, when I go to install House Party, nothing happens. I've tried running as an admin, setting compatability, everything. Do you think editing the start-up would help for that, too?
